POSITION SUMMARY:
The Speech Therapist isresponsible for providing a full range of speech-language pathology servicesincluding assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in aninterdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications,professional practices and ethical standards. The Speech Therapist works closely with infants, children and adults whohave various levels of speech, language and communication problems as well aspeople with swallowing difficulties. TheSpeech Therapist is responsible for providing patient and family educationappropriate to treatment modalities and for providing education to other membersof the department with regard to treatment programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Follows established policies and procedures,objectives, safety standards, and sensitivity to confidential information.
2. Responsible for providing a full range ofspeech-language pathology services including assessment, treatment planning andtherapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent withthe position's qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards.
3. Provides direct patient care, evaluation, andestablishes a plan of care with each patient within the scope of license, inaccordance with the speech therapists practice and as directed by a physicianorder.
4. Willing and able to demonstrate appropriate corecompetencies annually or as requested.
5. Evaluates and assess patient in order to develop atreatment plan of care.
6. Develops plan of care program specific for patient.
7. Provides direct patient treatment, or directstreatment being provided by other members of the department.
8. Assesses patient response to treatment and modifiestreatment plan as appropriate.
9. Instructs patient and family members in treatment andspecial use of any adaptive equipment, bracing, or exercise program.
10. Communicates regularly with referring physician orprimary individual generating referral.
11. Documents daily progress and discharge notes regardingpatient outcomes to therapy.
12. Generates accurate charges for treatment andevaluation provided.
13. Participates in departmental quality improvementprograms on an on-going basis.
14. Plans and develops educational programs fordepartment, medical staff, hospital, and the public.
15. Maintains and increases knowledge by attendingappropriate meetings and continuing education courses.
16. Attends all mandatory in-services and completes annualeducational requirements
17. Maintains a clean and organized work area.
18. Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAAregulations.
19. Support the culture of service excellence throughoutthe organization.
20. Actively seek ways to demonstrate a commitment tocontinuous improvement and participate in professional developmentopportunities.
21. Performs other related duties as assigned orrequested.
22. Understands and adheres to Bell's compliance standardsas they appear in Bell's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct andConflict of Interest Policy.

Job Requirements
MINIMUMLEVEL OF REQUIRED PREPARATION AND TRAINING/POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training and Experience Required:
Minimum:
Master's Degreein Speech/Language Pathology
Preferred:
Doctorate inSpeech/Language Pathology
2-3 years priorexperience as a Speech Therapist.
Licensure/Certification:
Required: Certification from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
Michigan Licensure as a Speech-LanguagePathologist
Primary Source Verification: AmericanSpeech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)

Physical Demands:

Working Conditions:
1. Occasionally requires work near moving mechanicalparts.

3. May occasionally be as risk of electrical shock.
4. Works in moderate noise conditions.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
